A wintry mix will continue in interior New England through tonight as a coastal storm quickly passes to the east. Heavy snow is expected in northern Maine, with a coating of ice expected for much of interior New England. Gusty northwest winds and dropping humidity this afternoon will result in elevated to locally critical fire spread potential this afternoon, especially to the north and west of Tulsa. Take care not to start any fires.
We'll get a glancing blow of arctic air to start off the weekend. By Sunday morning, wind chills will be in the single digits and teens.
With persistent dry conditions and favorable weather conditions, a heightened threat for wildfires exists on Friday. Take steps to lessen your risk from wildfires.
