Severe Weather and Heavy Rainfall Potential for the Plains; Coastal Low Across the mid-Atlantic

An upper trough and frontal boundary will focus showers and thunderstorms across portions of the Plains through early Monday; A few severe thunderstorms along with heavy rainfall are expected. Meanwhile, low pressure off the Southeast Coast will bring inclement weather across the mid-Atlantic coast through Monday. Shower and thunderstorm chances will increase through the daytime on Thursday as a frontal boundary moves through the area. Highest chances will occur during the afternoon and evening hours on Thursday. There is also a severe thunderstorm chance along with a marginal threat of excessive rainfall which may lead to flooding.
A marginal risk for severe weather is outlooked for Thursday across most of eastern OK and also northwest AR as a frontal boundary moves into the region. Locally damaging winds and large hail the are primary threats, while at the same time a threat for heavy rain also exists Thursday.
An unsettled pattern will continue into next week with a trend toward near normal temperatures and an overall wetter pattern. Confidence in details remains low however.
