A Heat Advisory is in effect for Thursday afternoon for the Tulsa Metro Area where heat index values up to 106 degrees are expected. Heat Index values of 100 to 105 degrees are forecast across much of the remainder of eastern Oklahoma.
The weekend is looking pretty unsettled, with indications in the data that one or more storm complexes will be dropping south across the region Saturday night into Sunday ahead of a front. There is a slight risk of excessive rainfall which could lead to flash flooding.
Hot and humid weather will persist through Thursday. A front will bring increasing storm chances Thursday afternoon and night, with chances lingering into the weekend as another front moves in. Locally heavy rainfall and a limited severe weather risk will accompany the storms, along with some relief from the heat by early next week.
