Late afternoon and evening time frames are most favored for severe weather on Tuesday. Current data indicate the severe weather threat will end west of a line from Vinita to Henryetta by midnight Tuesday night and by 2 am early Wednesday morning eastward to a Huntsville to Antlers line.

A Slight Risk of severe thunderstorms remains forecast Wednesday into Wednesday night for parts of eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas to the west of a line from Eureka Springs to Wilburton. A Marginal Risk exists to the east of the Slight Risk area across the rest of eastern Oklahoma and northwest and west central Arkansas. Large hail to the size of a tennis ball, damaging winds to 70 mph and a limited threat for tornadoes are the main threats.

Additional rain and thunderstorms are expected Tuesday and Wednesday for eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. A marginal risk of excessive rainfall that could lead to localized flood potential exists Tuesday areawide except for areas east of a Huntsville to Poteau line, as well as Wednesday to the east of a Bartlesville to Bristow line.

Another round of severe storm and excessive rainfall potential is expected Friday for parts of the area. Highest risk for severe storms exists north of a line from Grove to Henryetta, while a marginal risk of excessive rainfall exists north of Highway 412 in northeast Oklahoma. Higher end severe storm threats will be possible. Afternoon and evening time frames are most favored. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts.
