Showers and thunderstorms are expected from Texas to the Northeast through Tuesday. Heavy rain will create mainly localized areas of flash flooding across the central Gulf Coast into the Appalachians. A marginal risk for severe weather is outlooked Friday afternoon and evening across portions of eastern Oklahoma. Locally damaging winds are the main threat, with a secondary threat of hail.
Rain showers along with scattered thunderstorm chances expand across eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas today and tonight with the greater potential during the afternoon and evening hours. A heavy rain threat which could lead to localized flooding concerns is the main threat, though an isolated severe potential exists for strong winds. Additional showers and storms will continue Thursday.
Locally heavy rainfall will be possible daily this week, with additional rain chances over the weekend. Be aware of potential for flooding.
