Clear skies and light winds overnight will contribute to patchy fog across portions of southeast Oklahoma and the Arkansas River Valley. Air temperatures in the single digits will deposit the most dense fog as ice on road surfaces and windshields. Take precautions if traveling Tuesday morning in areas that experience freezing fog.
Dangerously cold wind chills are expected tonight through Tuesday morning. This can cause frostbite and burst pipes if precautionary actions are not taken. Please avoid outdoor activities, wrap exposed pipes, drip faucets, and make sure outdoor animals have shelter, food and water.
Dangerously cold conditions are expected through the beginning of the week. Subzero wind chills are expected Monday night through Tuesday morning.
Cold conditions will continue through much of this week, with largely dry conditions. Patchy freezing fog may occur in the Lower Arkansas River Valley and far southeast Oklahoma early Tuesday morning, with more extensive freezing fog potential Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
