Storm Impacting the Northwest U.S.; Fire Weather Conditions in Southern California; Severe Weather in the South

A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. nautical miles including the portion of the Papahanaumokuakea
Marine National Monument east of French Frigate Shoals

Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average height
of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be more than
twice the significant wave height.

.Synopsis for the Hawaiian offshore waters...
Strong high pressure far NE of Hawaii will weaken on Monday as a
surface trough forms far NW Kauai. A surface low will develop
about 500 nm northwest of Kauai on Tuesday and remain northwest
of the area through Thursday, bringing a chance for thunderstorms
over NW waters. The low will move to the N Friday.
