Severe Weather and Flash Flooding Threat Continues in the Central and Southern Plains; Heavy Mountain Snow in the Intermountain West

Heavy rain and severe weather will continue across the central and southern Plains through the weekend. Tornadoes, large hail, damaging winds and flash flooding will be the primary threats. This article is from Feb 2018 and is no longer valid: Heads up Southcentral Alaska! A pattern change is expected late Sunday through Monday. A wintry mix of precipitation will fall throughout Southcentral and will likely affect the Monday morning commute. 

At this time, we are certain that precipitation will occur. However, we are less certain about how much and what type of precipitation will fall. 

Snowfall accumulation will be greatest in the Susitna Valley, and in the higher elevations including Hatcher Pass. Total accumulations of 7-13 inches expected, with up to 18 inches in Hatcher Pass through Monday night.
