A major winter storm is expected to bring heavy snow, strong winds, and coastal flooding across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast that may cause impossible travel conditions and power outages. Blizzard conditions are possible along coastal areas from the DelMarVa Peninsula through southeastern New England. Tampa Bay Weather History – Our Harrowing Past

The NOAA National Weather Service in the Tampa Bay Area of Florida in collaboration with the University of South Florida has chronicled our sordid weather history. Two frail leather bound U.S. Weather Service Bureau books dating back to 1890 have been scanned and rebound, and teamed with other records including old original weather maps, news articles, photographs of major past events, and major event summaries. All of these have been collected and are readily available through our NOAA Preserve America website.
