Powerful Winter Storm Impacting Alaska; Excessive Rain in Guam

In Alaska, a large, strong fall storm will bring coastal flooding, strong winds and heavy snow to a large a portion of the northern and western coast and Interior of the state. Monsoonal moisture and a low pressure area (Invest 97W) will produce excessive rain that may lead to flash, urban, small stream, and river flooding across Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands. NOAA Weather Radio All Hazards (NWR) is a nationwide network of radio stations broadcasting continuous weather information directly from the nearest National Weather Service office. NWR broadcasts include official Weather Service warnings, watches, climatological data, forecasts, and other hazard information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Receivers can be purchased at many retail outlets, including electronics, department, sporting goods, and boat and marine accessory stores and their catalogs. More information about receivers can be found here.
