This is Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week in Wisconsin

There will be a statewide tornado drill on Thursday, April 12th.  This will be an ideal time to practice your plans at work and at home during a Tornado Warning.  A Test Tornado Watch will be issued at 1pm, followed by a Test Tornado Warning at 1:45pm.  These will both end at 2pm.  Following this will be a second tornado drill in the evening with a Test Tornado Warning issued at 6:45pm, which will end at 7pm.

Throughout the week, we will be discussing how you can stay safe in severe weather situations.  It all starts with having a plan for what to do when severe weather occurs.  Then, you need to have a way to receive severe weather forecasts and alerts.  Once you get the alerts, the final and most important step is to take action and seek shelter.
