Major Winter Storm to Impact the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast; Inclement Weather in the Pacific Northwest

A major winter storm is expected to bring heavy snow, strong winds, and coastal flooding across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast that may cause impossible travel conditions and power outages. Blizzard conditions are possible along coastal areas from the DelMarVa Peninsula through southeastern New England. On February 21, 2008, Susan Spears and Pat Vesper of the National Weather Service, Midland/Odessa presented a Department of Commerce Honored Institution Award to the Zia Gas Plant of Hobbs, New Mexico.  The National Weather Service in Midland would like to thank the Zia Gas Plant for their 25 years of service.
