Heavy to excessive rainfall could bring areas of flooding at times Monday through Thursday across parts of the central Plains into the Midwest as well as southern Arizona and New Mexico. On February 21, 2008, Susan Spears and Pat Vesper of the National Weather Service, Midland/Odessa presented a Department of Commerce Honored Institution Award to the Zia Gas Plant of Hobbs, New Mexico. The National Weather Service in Midland would like to thank the Zia Gas Plant for their 25 years of service.
