Clear and Cooler Temperatures Across Much of the Eastern U.S.; Heavy Rain in Florida

A high pressure system is bringing mostly clear skies and cooler temperatures across much of the eastern U.S. to the Mid-South. A stationary front will produce thunderstorms and heavy rain across the Florida Peninsula to the immediate Southeastern coast. On November 12, 1998, Mr. Eddie Brite, Data Acquisition Program Manager of the National Weather Service, Midland/Odessa presented a Fifteen Year Service Award to Mrs. Pattie Barnes, along with former observer Mrs. Agnes Sorrells, 101, both of Knapp, Texas.
