Wednesday will see a marginal risk of severe storms for areas on the caprock and the southwestern Texas Panhandle from late this afternoon through the evening hours. Storms will be capable of producing wind gusts up to 75 mph, quarter size hail, and locally heavy rainfall.

Local Weather History For August 26th...
1992: A line of thunderstorms stretched across the western TX Panhandle during the early morning hours. An intense storm
produced a macroburst from Friona south to Hub. Friona police, emergency management officials and Southwestern Public
Service officials confirmed that windows were broken in several homes, fences were blown down and at least 40 power poles
were snapped.
