Tropical Depression in the Gulf; Severe Thunderstorms Monday

Tropical Depression Two is expected to gradually strengthen and could bring tropical storm conditions to the Florida Panhandle beginning late Monday. Areas of flash flooding will be possible through Thursday along the eastern and central Gulf Coast. MARCH 26 2009 SEVERE WEATHER

Overview

The second day in a row of widespread severe weather affected southwest Louisiana, with numerous reports of large hail and damaging winds. The damage in St. Mary Parish from these severe thunderstorms was considered worse than the damage from Hurricane Gustav in September 2008.
