Major Winter Storm to Impact the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast; Inclement Weather in the Pacific Northwest

A major winter storm is expected to bring heavy snow, strong winds, and coastal flooding across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast that may cause impossible travel conditions and power outages. Blizzard conditions are possible along coastal areas from the DelMarVa Peninsula through southeastern New England. JANUARY 25, 2004 SOUTH LAFAYETTE TORNADO

 

Overview

An F2 tornado touched down in southern Lafayette Parish between the city of Lafayette and the nearby town of Maurice. The tornado first struck along Bourque Road, flipping a mobile home which trapped and injured 3 people (one moderately). The storm then crossed Highway 167, damaging several homes and businesses, before damaging another home on Teljean Road. The tornado then tore the roof off a home and damaged several others on Constitution Drive before dissipating.
