   SABINE PASS GAUGE....3.62 FT MLLW AT 2000 UTC JUN 5 2001
   CAMERON TIDE GAUGE...4.23 FT MLLW AT 1000 UTC JUN 6 2001

   TIDES RAN 1.5 TO 2.5 FEET ABOVE NORMAL FROM SABINE PASS TO
   CAMERON FROM 1800 UTC JUN 5 2001 THROUGH 1200 UTC JUN 6 2001.

E. BEACH EROSION...

   NWS STORM SURVEY INDICATES MINOR EROSION ALONG UPPER TEXAS AND
   SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA COAST...DUE TO 6 TO 8 FT SEAS ON TOP OF 2 FT
   STORM SURGE.

   PORTIONS OF HIGHWAY 82 BETWEEN JOHNSON BAYOU AND HOLLY BEACH IN 
   CAMERON PARISH HAD WATER AND DEBRIS COME ACROSS IT DURING THE 
   HIGH TIDES ON JUNE 5TH AND 6TH 2001. PORTIONS OF HIGHWAYS 82 AND 
   87 NEAR SABINE PASS AND PORT ARTHUR IN JEFFERSON COUNTY ALSO HAD 
   WATER AND DEBRIS COME ACROSS THEM DURING THESE HIGH TIDES.

   STORM SURGE WATER ENTERED A FEW CAMPS AT CONSTANCE BEACH IN 
   CAMERON PARISH FROM THE LATE AFTERNOON JUNE 5 2001 THROUGH EARLY 
   MORNING OF JUNE 6TH 2001.

F. FLOODING...

   TWO SIGNIFICANT FLOODS HAVE OCCURRED SO FAR...MORE IS POSSIBLE.

   ON JUNE 6 2001...MANY HOMES IN LAFAYETTE...IBERIA...ST MARY...AND
   VERMILION PARISHES HAD WATER ENTER THEM WHEN OVER 10 INCHES OF 
   RAIN FELL IN LESS THAN 12 HOURS. SOME OF THE WORST HIT TOWNS 
   INCLUDED BROUSSARD AND YOUNGSVILLE IN LAFAYETTE PARISH...ERATH IN 
   VERMILION PARISH...AND FRANKLIN IN ST MARY PARISH. THE MAIN 
   HIGHWAYS OF US 90 AND 182 WERE SHUT DOWN BETWEEN LAFAYETTE AND 
   NEW IBERIA FOR OVER 12 HOURS DUE TO DEEP WATER.

   ON JUNE 7 2001...SOME HOMES IN THE CHINA...NOME...AND BEAUMONT 
   AREAS OF JEFFERSON COUNTY...AND VIDOR IN ORANGE COUNTY HAD WATER 
   ENTER THEM WHEN SIX TO TEN INCHES OF RAIN FELL IN LESS THAN FIVE 
   HOURS. NUMEROUS STREETS WERE CLOSED AND HUNDREDS OF CARS STALLED 
   IN DEEP WATER.

G. TORNADOES...NONE

H. STORM EFFECTS...

   NO DEATHS HAVE BEEN REPORTED. MINOR INJURIES ASSOCIATED WITH 
   FLOOD-RELATED ISSUES SUCH AS PEOPLE TRAPPED IN CARS IN DEEP WATER.

   VOLUNTARY EVACUATIONS WERE CALLED FOR SABINE PASS IN JEFFERSON 
   COUNTY...BUT FEW PEOPLE LEFT. OTHER EVACUATIONS OCCURRED RELATED 
   TO THE FLASH FLOOD PROBLEMS DURING THE TWO FLOOD EVENTS LISTED 
   ABOVE.
