Storm Impacting the Northwest U.S.; Fire Weather Conditions in Southern California; Severe Weather in the South

A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. Wind advisories are in effect Tuesday for much of northern Arizona. A High Wind Warning is in effect for the Little Colorado River Valley. Strong southwest winds gusting 45 to 70 mph. Difficult driving conditions and areas of blowing dust are expected. Loose or unsecured objects may be blown around or damaged by winds.
A Red Flag Warning is in effect Tuesday for the Little Colorado River Valley, White Mountains, and Chuska Mountains. Strong southwest winds gusting 50 to 70 mph combined with low RH can cause fires to rapidly grow in size and intensity.
