Tropical Storm Imelda Forms; Another Round of Heavy Rain and Potential Flooding in the Southwest

Tropical Storm Imelda has formed near the Bahamas Sunday afternoon, and continues to bring heavy rainfall. The risk of significant wind impacts from Imelda along the Southeast coast are decreasing. A Wind Advisory is in effect for Friday 11 AM MST through 7 PM MST. Many areas north of the Mogollon Rim to the Coconino Plateau are included. Difficult driving conditions possible for high profile vehicles, and be sure to secure loose objects
This year's monsoon season was drier than normal for most of northern and central Arizona. There were a few exceptions thanks to the recent wet weather, including Prescott Valley, Bagdad, and the Payson region.
