Regional Outbreaks of Severe Weather Through Early Next Week; Early Season Heat Wave across the South

One more day of storm chances for parts of the area today, particularly across southern Nevada and Northwest Arizona. Brief downpours and gusty winds will be the main threats. Drier weather returns just in time for the 4th of July.
Increasing winds and dry conditions will lead to critical fire weather conditions for Lincoln County on Friday. Those planning to head out for outdoor recreation should be aware of the fire danger. Heed all fire restrictions and use caution with fire triggers (grills, cars, campfires, etc.).
Warm and dry conditions prevailed for the month of June. The month topped out 2.4 degrees above normal with only a trace of rainfall. While it was dry - dry conditions are quite common in June, with many Junes not observing any rain at all in Las Vegas.
