Cooler for the mountains and deserts with not much change from Wednesday for the coast and valleys. High temperatures for today for the coastal areas: 62 to 66, western valleys and inland Orange County: 63 to 67, inland valleys: 56 to 64, mountains between 4000 feet and 7000 feet: 43 to 57, high desert: 59 to 69, low desert: 74 to 82.
Not much change from Thursday, as much as 12 to 18 degrees below average for the mountains. High temperatures for Friday for the coastal areas: 61 to 64, western valleys and inland Orange County: 61 to 66, inland valleys: 56 to 64, mountains between 4000 feet and 7000 feet: 44 to 56, high desert: 62 to 68, low desert: 74 to 82.
Areas of stronger and gusty southwest to west winds will clontinue for the mountains and deserts through today and into tonight. The stronger gusts are expected along and below the east slopes of the mountains with gusts to 45 to 55 mph with isolated gusts to 70 mph in the northern Coachella Vallen below the San Gorgonio Pass.
Rainfall and liquid-equivalent above the snow level through Friday evening from less than one-tenth inch near the coast to one-tenth to one-quarter inch in the mountains with local amounts to one-half inch and isolated amounts to three-quarters of an inch.
