Tropical Storm Imelda Forms; Another Round of Heavy Rain and Potential Flooding in the Southwest

Tropical Storm Imelda has formed near the Bahamas Sunday afternoon, and continues to bring heavy rainfall. The risk of significant wind impacts from Imelda along the Southeast coast are decreasing. Elko: September 2025 was above normal with an average temperature of 63.5 degrees, which was 3.2 degrees above the normal of 60.3 degrees, making September 2025 the 6th warmest on record. Elko received 0.65 inches of rain which was above average. The average for rainfall is 0.59 inches. Ely: September 2025 was above normal with an average temperature of 59.9 degrees, which was 1.5 degrees above the normal of 58.4 degrees. Ely received 0.84 inches of rain which was above average. The average for rainfall is 0.64 inches. Ely saw no snowfall for September which was below average. The average for snowfall is 0.2 inches. Eureka: September 2025 was above normal with an average temperature of 61.0 degrees which was 1.9 degrees above the normal of 59.1 degrees, making September 2025 tied for the 8th warmest on record. Eureka received 0.61 inches of rain, which was above average. The average rainfall is 0.57 inches. Tonopah: September 2025 was above normal with an average temperature of 66.0 degrees which was 0.3 degrees above the normal of 65.7 degrees. Tonopah received 2.30 inches of rain, which was above average, making September 2025 tied for the 3rd wettest on record. The average rainfall is 0.45 inches. Winnemucca: September 2025 was above normal with an average temperature of 64.0 degrees which was 1.9 degrees above the normal of 62.1 degrees, making September 2025 tied for the 10th warmest on record. Winnemucca received 0.25” of rain which was below average. The average for rainfall is 0.39”.
