A vigorous storm system will arrive late Friday bringing another round of severe storms to the area. There remains some uncertainty, but the pattern will be favorable for all severe hazards Friday afternoon and Friday evening.

Severe thunderstorms are expected to develop late this afternoon into the evening hours. Large hail, damaging winds and some tornadoes will all be possible. Heavy rain may lead to localized flooding.

Another round of strong and severe storms may develop on Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday evening. The primary threats will be large hail, damaging winds and heavy rain.

Gusty winds and exceptionally dry air will promote extreme grassland fire danger for central and western Kansas this afternoon. Avoid outdoor burning, any fires that start will spread quickly and be difficult to control.
