March 15th 2026 intense northwest winds!

Overview

A powerful cold front surged through the Plains on Sunday March 15th with intense northwest winds following behind the front. Most areas saw wind gusts in the 55 to 65 mph range along with some scattered bursts of snow. Strong winds also caused blowing dust that reduced visibility, especially across central and western Kansas.
