Storm Impacting the Northwest U.S.; Fire Weather Conditions in Southern California; Severe Weather in the South

A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. Overview

An historic surge of cold air affected much of the Plains into the Great Lakes region on November 12th 2019. Dozens of low temperature records were set, some over 100 years old! What was even more remarkable is that these record breaking low temperatures occurred without snow on the ground for much of the Plains.
