Overview

Historic low pressure system moved out into the High Plains on Wednesday March 13th 2019. Much of eastern Colorado and western Kansas saw the lowest pressure ever recorded. Meanwhile, Wichita experience the 6th lowest pressure on record. This resulted in extremely strong winds which ranged from 80 to 95 mph over eastern Colorado to the 55 to 65 mph range over much of Kansas. These strong winds caused blizzard conditions over eastern Colorado and caused widespread damage across much of Kansas.
