1911   Puerto Rico recorded its coldest temperature ever when the mercury fell to 40 degrees in Aibonito.

1956   A whopping 367 inches of snow, more than 30 feet, was measured on the ground at the Rainier Paradise Ranger Station in Washington. The snow depth was a state record and the second highest total of record for the continental U.S.
