1966   In Whenuapai, New Zealand, 4.2 inches of rain fell in 1 hour, setting the record for that time period in New Zealand.

1959   Mount Shasta received 189 inches of snow in six days, setting a world record for the most snow in a single event. It is now known as the Mount Shasta Ski bowl.
