Arctic air lingers for the east, however, winds will slowly subside and a slow moderating trend starts during the week. Well above normal temperatures continue through the forecast, often feeling more like mid-March to early-April. Widespread rain chances return and overspread the area beginning Friday night/overnight, with best rain chances throughout the day on Saturday. Greatest rainfall amounts generally over southern areas, or put another way, best chances for an inch or more of rainfall will reside from around I-70 southward.
Widespread rains return to the area late Friday through Saturday, including the potential for widespread 1 inch or greater rainfalls. The best chances for 1 inch or greater tend to be along and south of I-70, quickly tapering off as you work toward the Iowa-Missouri border.
