Lingering Winter Weather in Interior New England; Snow Squalls Developing Downwind of the Lower Great Lakes

A wintry mix will continue in interior New England through tonight as a coastal storm quickly passes to the east. Heavy snow is expected in northern Maine, with a coating of ice expected for much of interior New England. April 4-8, 2022 is Severe Weather Awareness Week in Minnesota and Wisconsin.  Iowa held an awareness week in late March.

 

Each day a different preparedness topic will be covered, including statewide tornado drills that are scheduled for Thursday, April 7th at both 1:45PM and 6:45PM.

On Thursday, April 7th, statewide tornado drills will be held at 1:45 p.m. CDT and 6:45 p.m. CDT.  Outdoor sirens may be used in some communities for the drill and NOAA Weather Radios will be activated using test wording.  We hope you can take advantage of these drills to test your action and shelter plans.
