A system approaching the area late tonight into Saturday will bring showers and storms back to the area. Some storms could be stronger, especially Saturday afternoon across parts of northeast Lower Michigan, though some uncertainties remain. Primary hazards with any storms will be locally heavy rain and damaging winds. Be sure to monitor the latest forecast.
Showers will develop today, mainly along and south of M-32. Enough energy in the atmosphere will allow for embedded thunderstorms south of M-55 as well. Heading into tonight, more showers and storms will develop and move into the region from the west and southwest. Locally heavy rainfall will be the primary concern.
Swim risk remains low across the Great Lakes this weekend. That being said, chances for thunderstorms, especially Saturday, will pose a lightning and damaging wind risk. For more information on Great Lakes beach hazards, visit: https://www.weather.gov/greatlakes/beachhazards
