Snow in the Rockies; Showers and Thunderstorms Along the Gulf Coast; Potential Winter Storm for Northern Mid-Atlantic and Interior New England

A winter-like pattern will continue over much of the Lower 48 over the next few days, with snow stretching from the Rockies today into the Middle Mississippi Valley on Monday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along the Gulf Coast and Southeast on Monday.   • On October 28, McAlester set a record low minimum temperature 24 deg F and a record low mean temperature of 43 deg F set on 10/28. This was also the earliest occurrence of 24 deg F.
  • Both Fort Smith and Tulsa had the last freeze of the spring and first freeze of the fall on the same dates this year: April 14 and October 28.
  • No river flooding occurred this month.
  • Tulsa has dropped to the 5th wettest year so far (Jan. 1-Oct. 31) with 52.36".
  • Fort Smith is the 3rd wettest year so far (Jan. 1-Oct. 31) with 55.92".
