Frigid Airmass to Bring Significantly Colder Temperatures; Snow Continues Downwind of the Great Lakes

A frigid cold airmass will bring significantly colder weather across the eastern two thirds of the country early this week. Record low temperatures are expected in the Southeast by Tuesday morning.   • On October 28, McAlester set a record low minimum temperature 24 deg F and a record low mean temperature of 43 deg F set on 10/28. This was also the earliest occurrence of 24 deg F.
  • Both Fort Smith and Tulsa had the last freeze of the spring and first freeze of the fall on the same dates this year: April 14 and October 28.
  • No river flooding occurred this month.
  • Tulsa has dropped to the 5th wettest year so far (Jan. 1-Oct. 31) with 52.36".
  • Fort Smith is the 3rd wettest year so far (Jan. 1-Oct. 31) with 55.92".
