Regional Outbreaks of Severe Weather Through Early Next Week; Early Season Heat Wave across the South

Active spring pattern across the center of our nation with several episodes of severe weather and heavy rainfall expected into next week. The potential for very large hail, long track tornadoes, severe wind gusts, frequent cloud to ground lightning strikes and flash flooding are in the outlook. Dense fog will reduce visibility to one quarter mile or less across the Lake of the Ozarks and Rolla areas through 9am. Use caution if traveling!
A few severe thunderstorms could occur this morning across southeast Kansas and far southwest Missouri. Large hail and damaging winds are the most likely hazards with a very low tornado risk. Remain weather aware this morning.
Another round of thunderstorms will move through this morning which could produce localized flooding southwest of Springfield. 0.5in to 2 inches of rainfall with localized amounts to 3 inches will be possible. Turn around don't drown!
