Gusty southwest winds and low humidity will create elevated to significant fire danger across the area on Tuesday. Afternoon temperatures will warm into the upper 50s to lower 60s. Due to the danger, outside burning is discouraged except by experienced fire personnel.
After a chilly night tonight with lows in the teens to upper 20s, temperatures will warm to above normal through the end of the week. Many locations will be in the 60s at least a few days this week. The next chance of rain arrives Wednesday night.
Moderate to extreme drought conditions persist across the area. Locations along and south of Interstate 44 have the worst drought conditions. Drought conditions are expected to persist through late Winter.
