Snow in the Rockies; Showers and Thunderstorms Along the Gulf Coast; Potential Winter Storm for Northern Mid-Atlantic and Interior New England

A winter-like pattern will continue over much of the Lower 48 over the next few days, with snow stretching from the Rockies today into the Middle Mississippi Valley on Monday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along the Gulf Coast and Southeast on Monday. Event Summary

A storm system and associated cold front pushed into the region Thursday, April 24th bringing scattered strong to locally severe thunderstorms. The strongest storms produced wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph.  Locally higher gusts near 60 mph occured mainly across cental Missouri. Several storms produced penny to nickel size hail.  Hail up to the size of half dollars fell in Springfield where hail covered the ground at some locations.
