A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. Monthly Climate OverviewOctober was a month with warmer than normal temperature and much above normal precipitation across the forecast area. The 4 automated stations (Springfield / Joplin / West Plains / Joplin) all had top 10 precipitation amounts for the month.
