A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. December 2014 was a month with above normal temperatures and below normal precipitation across the region. The northwest flow regime we had for much of November that brought well below normal temperatures became more zonal during the month of December and allowed for more moderate temperatures.
