 Fire Weather Planning Forecast
 National Weather Service Charleston WV
 252 AM EDT Sun May 17 2026

 .DISCUSSION...
Aside from an isolated thunderstorm across northern West Virginia
and southeast Ohio, quiet weather is expected early this morning.
Drier and hotter weather is then expected today through Tuesday,
with temperatures more typical of July or August than mid-May. The
lowlands will see highs reach the mid 80s to lower 90s, while 70s
and 80s are expected in the mountains. There is a chance for some
locations to tie or break record high temperatures on Monday or
 Tuesday.

Additional chances for rain are expected Wednesday onward as a front
slowly moves through the region, which will return temperatures back
 towards normal beginning Thursday.
