 National Weather Service Charleston WV

 .DISCUSSION...
Very windy and much colder weather persists into Tuesday, in the
wake of a strong arctic front that crossed earlier today. While
light flurries could periodically be seen across the lowlands, snow
showers are most likely in and just west of the northern and central
mountains, with accumulations as much as 5 or 6 inches over the
 higher windward slopes.

Winter-like weather will be in full control much of this week, with
a reinforcing shot of arctic air to ring in the new year while
assuring a prolonged period of cold weather, along with another
 opportunity for snow.
