Very Cold Temperatures Round Out the Month of January

Dangerously cold air and gusty winds will create life-threatening wind chills tonight through Tuesday, with extreme cold persisting all week.  .DISCUSSION...
 Light snow shower activity is expected to continue at times 
 throughout the day today. A dusting is possible across the lower 
 elevations, with light accumulations possible across the northern 
 mountains.
 
 Additional snow is possible Friday through the weekend with a winter 
 storm that grazes the area around the southern coalfields. Snow 
 amounts between 3 to 5 inches are expected in spots of Virginia and 
 southern West Virginia, with lower amounts expected the further 
 north into the area you go.
 
 In addition, very cold temperatures are expected to continue across 
 the area for the remainder of the week, with temperatures not 
 anticipated to rise above freezing.
