 Fire Weather Planning Forecast
 National Weather Service Charleston WV
 252 AM EDT Wed Apr 8 2026

 .DISCUSSION...
A very dry air mass has settled into the region. Minimum relative
humidity during the afternoons through Friday will generally bottom
out in the 20 percent range for most areas, however, pockets of
relative humidity in the teens are possible in some locations.

Winds will be lighter today than previous days, but a southeasterly
downslope component will kick in near the higher terrain after
sunset on Wednesday replacing light northerly winds.

While some low end rain chances exist late Friday into Saturday, a
widespread wetting rain is not expected until at least the middle of
 next week.
