 .DISCUSSION...
A blustery, wintry day is on tap today in the wake of a strong cold
front. Temperatures will fall to around freezing across the lowlands
and into the 20s in the mountains by dawn, level off through the
day, and then fall a bit further later tonight night.

Snow showers and snow squalls are likely today, which will briefly
but abruptly reduce visibility, and could make roads slick and
travel hazardous. Snowfall accumulations of 4 to 8 inches are
expected in the northeast mountains, with a coating to up to 2
inches across the lowlands, depending on where heavier bands track.
Localized heavier amounts will be possible over area directly hit by
a snow squall. Temperatures will be at or below freezing during
heavier snow showers and snow squalls.

Temperatures moderate amid dry weather early in the new work week,
ahead of another cold front arriving midweek that could bring rain,
 then snow showers.
