 .DISCUSSION...
Colder air filters into the area overnight following the passage of
a cold front, with accumulating snow continuing across the
mountains, while a transition to snow showers occurs across the
lowlands. Blizzard conditions are expected across the higher
elevations of the northern West Virginia mountains into Thursday
morning given strong wind gusts combined with total snowfall
accumulations of four to eight inches. Lighter accumulations are
expected across the rest of the higher terrain through Thursday
morning, generally one to four inches. A light coating of snow could
even occur across some locations in the lowlands given any brief,
but heavier snow showers overnight. This combined with falling
temperatures could lead to slick conditions for the Thursday morning
 commute.

After a very brief period of mainly dry weather Thursday afternoon
and evening, a series of clipper systems will then move through
beginning Thursday night into the weekend, bringing additional
rounds of wintry weather. The Friday morning commute could be
especially difficult. Very cold temperatures move in for Sunday and
Monday as drier weather builds into the region.
