 .DISCUSSION...
Unsettled weather returns to the region today and Thursday, with
precipitation gradually overspreading the area late today. Rain is
initially expected across much of the area, but will steadily switch
to snow this evening, with upslope snow showers then continuing into
Thursday amid much colder temperatures. Three to six inches is
possible in the northern mountains, with one to three inches across
the rest of the higher terrain, while a light coating could occur in
portions of the lowlands. Bitterly cold wind chills are expected
late tonight into Friday morning across the northern mountains.

After a brief break late Thursday into Friday, active weather
returns through the weekend with occasional snow showers and below
 normal temperatures.
