Lingering Winter Weather in Interior New England; Snow Squalls Developing Downwind of the Lower Great Lakes

A wintry mix will continue in interior New England through tonight as a coastal storm quickly passes to the east. Heavy snow is expected in northern Maine, with a coating of ice expected for much of interior New England. Due to the potential for strong to severe thunderstorms today, the Routine Weekly Test of NOAA All-Hazards radio is postponed until tomorrow, Thursday, March 20th around noon.

Also, there will be maintenance to the Madison NOAA Weather Radio transmitter (WXJ-87, 162.550mhz, Channel 7) early on Friday morning between midnight and 6am. The transmitter will be down during this time. Alternative nearby weather radio stations to use during this time are:
