Lowell to Impact Hawaii; Heat Persists in the South-Central U.S.

Hurricane Lowell is forecast to pass west of Kauai`s coastal waters tonight. Impacts such as high surf and heavy rain could impact all of the islands. Sweltering heat remains across the South-Central Plains and Lower/Middle Mississippi Valley into this week with limited nighttime relief. The Milwaukee lakeshore observation located on the Port of Milwaukee grounds near the Lake Express Ferry terminal is experiencing intermittent data outages, most likely due to the power supply. The observation stopped transmitting around 1 pm on September 2nd but resumed around 10 am on September 3rd.

Our technicians will be visiting the site to diagnose the issue, and hopefully get it corrected later this week, or the week of September 9th.
