Extreme Heat and Fire Weather Conditions in the West; Severe Thunderstorm Threat in the Northern Plains on Thursday

Extreme heat will may set some new daily temperature records across the Desert Southwest. Hot, dry and windy conditions and dry thunderstorms continue to bring fire weather concerns for portions of the Desert Southwest, the central Great Basin and Rockies. One half to two and a half inches of snow fell across southern Wisconsin in the overnight and early morning hours between December 8th and 9th. The highest amounts were centered around Dodge county.

The snow in southern Wisconsin began in the late afternoon on Friday and persisted off and on into the morning on Saturday. Snow was the heaviest in the early morning hours.
