Tracking Severe Thunderstorms and Excessive Rainfall in the Southern U.S.; Winter Storm to Impact the Northern U.S.

A storm system will shift from eastern Texas into the lower Mississippi Valley Monday with additional threats of severe thunderstorms and heavy to excessive rainfall which may bring flooding. A Flood Watch remains in effect. In the northern U.S., a storm will bring heavy snow and gusty winds over parts of the northern Rockies, northern Plains, and Upper Midwest Monday into Wednesday. The National Weather Service is at the EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, WI this week!  AirVenture runs through Sunday, July 29th.  

 

 

Check out our booth in the Federal Pavilion, located near the main air show runway.  You can cool off in the Hurricane Simulator, touch a mini tornado, view weather instruments that ride on airplanes, navigate through our websites with forecasters from The Aviation Weather Center and your local National Weather Service offices, and ask us all sorts of questions!

 

 

The Federal Pavilion is open from 9 am to 5 pm daily.  There are interesting presentations about a variety of topics, including General Aviation Safety Improvements, Volk Field Air National Guard Base, U.S. Customs and Border Control Air and Marine Operations, Aviation Weather Center Area Forecast, Flying to the Bahamas, NOAA Coastal Mapping, etc.  We hope to see you there!
