Above normal temperatures and mostly dry conditions were seen for the first few weeks of the month. Late in October, some changes took place that provided some widespread rainfall and several days worth of cool temperatures. Little in the way of active weather was seen across the state during the month. But, on October 18th a few severe storms moved across the state ahead of a cold front. An EF-1 tornado occurred in Hot Spring County which was the 60th tornado of the year across Arkansas.
Near the end of the month a dry cold front ushered in colder temperatures, but in its wake it also provided strong winds. On October 28th, winds gusted over 40 mph in some locations.
