Storm Impacting the Northwest U.S.; Fire Weather Conditions in Southern California; Severe Weather in the South

A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. Autumn 2018 was the wettest Autumn at Jackson with a total of 19.20 inches, besting the

previous record of 19.01 in 1989. Normal precipitation for Autumn is 10.61 at Jackson.

Fall temperatures were near normal at Jackson with the average only 0.2 degrees above

normal. London missed 5 days of rainfall in Autumn 2018 due to a sensor outage but Fall 2018

did manage to tie as the 14th warmest Autumn.

 

November  2018 was the 11th wettest November at Jackson with a total of 4.91 inches. Through

the end of November, Jackson has totaled 60.51 inches which makes 2018 the 4th wettest year

on record at Jackson. The Jackson Weather Office normally receives 48.34 inches annually.

The London Corbin Airport precipitation total was 5.73 inches which makes November 2018 

the 9th wettest. Jackson averaged 43.0 degrees for November which was the 5th coolest temperature.

London saw November 2018 as the 8th coolest with a average of 42.5 degrees. The following are
