Storm Impacting the Northwest U.S.; Fire Weather Conditions in Southern California; Severe Weather in the South

A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. March 2021 was warmer than normal across eastern Kentucky.  Jackson averaged 52.6 

degrees which is over five degrees above normal. London finished March 2021 with a

reading of 50.5  degrees which is a little over three degrees warmer than normal. Jackson

totaled 5.44 inches of  precipitation for March which is almost one and a third inches above 

normal. London measured 5.82 inches of precipitation for March 2021 which is over one and

three quarters of an inch wetter than normal. Also of note, Jackson set a daily precipitation

record of 1.51 inches on March 28th.  London set a precipitation record on the same day with

a total of 1.46 inches. Climate data for Jackson dates back to 1981 while weather records

began in 1954 at London.
