Storm Impacting the Northwest U.S.; Fire Weather Conditions in Southern California; Severe Weather in the South

A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms are possible through early Wednesday morning across parts of northeast Texas into western Tennessee. Read More >

October  2022 was over two degrees below normal and over two and a half

inches drier than normal at the Jackson Weather Office. October's precipitation

total of 0.83 was the 2nd driest October at Jackson, only behind 0.51 inches

from 1987. October 2022 was also the 9th driest October. At the London Corbin 

Airport, October 2022 was over three and a half degrees cooler than normal and

exactly two inches drier than normal. Also of note, October 2022 was the 10th

coolest and 11th driest October. Climate data for Jackson dates back to 1981

while weather records began in 1954 at London.
