Severe Weather and Heavy Rainfall Potential for the Plains; Coastal Low Across the mid-Atlantic

An upper trough and frontal boundary will focus showers and thunderstorms across portions of the Plains through early Monday; A few severe thunderstorms along with heavy rainfall are expected. Meanwhile, low pressure off the Southeast Coast will bring inclement weather across the mid-Atlantic coast through Monday. New - National Water Prediction Service is available for preview and feedback!!

The National Weather Service is modernizing Hydrologic Web Dissemination, making data and resources more accessible and more useful to emergency managers, the water resources community, and the public.

The new web functionality will be modern, efficient, and mobile-friendly. This NWPS website will be the primary source of NWS water data and forecast information.

The NWS is asking the public and partners to provide feedback on the new National Water Prediction Service (NWPS) through the preview site - preview.water.noaa.gov. NWPS is the future replacement for the Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service (AHPS). After completing several rigorous testing phases with the NWPS Integrated Working Team (IWT) and many volunteer forecasters across the country, the 30-day NWPS public test began as of Thursday, November 16, 2023. This test will last 30 days - through December 15, 2023. During this time, the public and partners are asked to provide feedback via the SurveyMonkey service. In addition, an email account is available to receive questions: nwps.webmaster@noaa.gov. During the public test, the NWPS development team will continue working through feedback that has already been provided by internal testers and implement enhancements after the public test has concluded; the NWPS preview site will remain available for testing through operational implementation in Spring 2024.
