A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. January 2022 was very wet with Jackson and London seeing precipitation amounts well above normal. Jackson was over
4 inches wetter than normal with a total of 7.71 inches. In fact, January 2022 was the wettest January ever at Jackson. Also,
Jackson measured 3.38 inches on January 1st which set the record for the wettest day in January. The previous record was
2.19 inches from January 25th, 2019. London totaled 5.32 inches of precipitation which is over one and three quarter inches
above normal. January 2022 was the 11th wettest January at London. Cold conditions were also on tap last month. Jackson
averaged 32.5 degrees which was nearly two and a half degrees colder than normal. London's average for the month was
missing due to a sensor error on January 27th and 28th. But London did tie a monthly maximum temperature record with a
