Summer 2021 saw  warmer than normal temperatures and well above normal precipitation at the Jackson

Weather Office. The mean temperature was 1.1 degrees warmer than normal. Jackson ended Summer 2021

with a precipitation total over five and 1/2 inches above normal. In fact, Summer 2021 was the 3rd wettest

summer at Jackson as well as the 8th warmest summer. At London, Summer 2021 was 0.2 degrees warmer 

than normal. The London Corbin Airport seasonal precipitation total was 21.57 inches which was a whooping

seven and 1/3rd inches above normal. Summer 2021 was the wettest summer at London, washing away the

previous record of 21.13 inches from 2013.

 

August 2021 was warmer than normal across eastern Kentucky.  Jackson averaged 76.8 degrees which made

August 2021 almost two degrees warmer than normal. It was the 9th warmest August at Jackson. London

finished August 2021 with a reading of 76.5 degrees which over one degree above normal. Jackson finished

August with a total of 8.78 inches which is over five inches wetter than normal.  In fact, August 2021 was the

2nd wettest August at Jackson. The London Corbin Airport finished August 2021 with a precipitation total of

5.68 inches which is nearly over 2 inches above normal.  August 2021 was the 9th wettest August at London.
